Meet Shreya Josh, an artist from New Delhi who’s been creating since she was a kid. With formal training in realistic drawing, she has developed a unique style with playful, messy lines. At 17, Shreya got her first tattoo, which kicked off her love for tattoo culture.
While studying in Chicago, she discovered stick and poke tattoos, focusing on personal connections and community. In 2017, Shreya started “Tender Pokes” in India to promote handpoke tattoos and help others feel empowered about their bodies.
Living with vitiligo, Shreya understands how body art can be a powerful form of self-expression. She has embraced her skin’s uniqueness with tattoos and, at 26, began adding tooth gems to her look. For Shreya, tattoos, piercings, and hair color are all ways to celebrate individuality and self-love.
